Dr Bryan Collings offers over 30 years of experience in finance and investment management, with director-level roles at global institutions like Invesco, Deutsche Bank, and Barings (Baring). Renowned for his high-conviction approach and advocacy for emerging market investments, he has delivered consistent, strong results for clients, earning recognition in European investment publications (EM). Collings’ investment style has always been to manage investment funds on a ‘high conviction’ basis, to limit the number of securities in his funds, and to deliver the best possible performance for clients (Conviction). His strong, unequivocal investment views and insights have been reported weekly in European investment publications (Media).
He founded an investment management joint venture with Standard Life in 2006 (Hexam). As Managing Partner, an award-winning (Awards) and top-performing global fund manager for over ten years (Morningstar and S&P), Collings increased fund assets from $13 million to $2 billion by 2010 (Fund Growth). His clients include pension funds and retirement plans globally. Collings sold his stake in the business in late 2011 to pursue family obligations and personal interests, one of which was Doctoral level research in Applied Corporate Finance in Investment Management (Doctorate).
Dr Collings holds a Doctoral degree specializing in Finance in the United States, achieving a 4.0 GPA, or Summa Cum Laude. In addition to a Master’s Degree in Financial Economics (Masters), Bryan Collings has acquired the Chartered Financial Analyst accreditation. Collings has a Machine Learning qualification through Stanford University and apples these skills in Finance for the benefit of both client business optimization and academic research interests. In addition, Bryan Collings was invited and has become a member of the distinguished Phi Kappa Phi honorary academic organization, and has thereby been recognized in the top 7.5% of graduate scholars in the United States (PHIKAPPAPHI).
In addition, Collings co-founded Cohort5 in the United States with four partners (Cohort5). An Investment firm that specializes on assisting pensions, sovereign wealth funds, and others fulfil their investment missions. The focus of the firm is on private equity portfolio investment and asset optimization, waste to energy, Waste management, and alternative energy.
In addition to his business interests, Bryan is a visiting and award winning Finance lecturer teaching post-graduate Finance and global Investment Management at a number of universities both in the US and UK.
