My Contribution

Bryan Collings is an investment and academic veteran who has had some success, and endured the consequences of many mistakes – most of his own making. In there lies his experience and value.

He is a native South African and British citizen and has been based mainly in London for over two decades. However, Collings has spent more time in the United States in recent years pursuing both business and academic interests.

Collings has completed a Doctoral degree specializing in Finance in the United States, achieving a 4.0 GPA (Summa cum Laude). In addition, Bryan Collings was invited and has become a member of the distinguished Phi Kappa Phi honorary academic organization, and has thereby been recognized in the top 7.5% of graduate scholars in the United States (PHIKAPPAPHI).

In addition to a Master’s Degree in Financial Economics (MASTERS), Bryan Collings has acquired the Chartered Financial Analyst accreditation. Collings is currently engaged on a Machine Learning (ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE) qualification through Stanford University and will apply these skills in Finance for the benefit of both client business optimization and academic research interests.

Bryan Collings has some 25 years of experience in investment management at various global fund management companies, including Invesco, Deutsche Bank, and Barings (BARING). Also, Bryan Collings has been a Director in these companies for more than 20 years leading global funds and professional investment teams globally. He is, and has been, a vigorous and long term supporter of emerging market investment (EM). Collings’ investment style has always been to manage investment funds on a ‘high conviction’ basis, to limit the number of securities in his funds, and to deliver the best possible performance for clients (CONVICTION). His strong, unequivocal investment views and insights were reported weekly in the European investment publications (MEDIA)

Collings founded an investment management joint venture with Standard Life in 2006 (HEXAM). As Managing Partner, an award-winning (AWARDS) and top-performing global fund manager for over ten years (MORNINGSTAR and S&P), Bryan Collings increased fund assets from $13 million to $2 billion by 2010 (FUND GROWTH). His clients include pension funds and retirement plans globally. Collings sold his stake in the business in late 2011 to pursue family obligations and personal interests, one of which was Doctoral level research in applied corporate finance and ESG in investment management (DOCTORATE).

Bryan Collings continues to hold several non-executive board positions internationally. In addition, Collings co-founded Cohortfive in the United States with four partners (COHORT5). The company offers advisory and execution services in multiple industry segments.
